Today's update is the biggest the shop has had: ten new items at once. Four live decks, each with its own figures, its own night for every suit and its own tricks at the table; three live tables that join Aurora, Embers and Crystal at a lower price; and three room backgrounds that also go on your player card. All of it is unlocked with pesos earned at the table, and all of it has a preview at a real Mexico table before you decide.
Four live decks, 400 pesos each
Like the Ice and Vampire decks, the four new ones are drawn in real time: they react when you point at a card, when trump is picked, and when a trick is taken with a trump.
Day of the Dead
Sugar skulls painted with flowers. The ace is La Catrina in her flowered hat, the king a Catrín in a top hat with a monocle, the queen a girl with a marigold crown, and the jack a mariachi with his guitar. Every suit has its own night: an ofrenda with candles, papel picado over a lit street, a graveyard on the night of the dead, and a church under the full moon.
- Candle eyes. Point at a card and the skull's eye sockets light up like candles, while marigold petals fall over it.
- Embers and petals. Trump cards glow like embers at the edges, with petals piling up along the bottom under little candle flames.
- A burst of petals. A trick taken with a trump comes apart in a burst of petals and sparks.
Pirate
Old parchment with burnt edges and a rope border. The captain with his hook and eye patch is the ace, the pirate king crowned with gold coins the king, the lady captain with her sabre the queen, and the cabin boy with a parrot the jack. The suits are a treasure map, an open chest of gold, a ship at sunset and the Jolly Roger in a storm.
- Gold and a compass. Point at a card and a gold glint sweeps across it while the compass under the figure spins.
- Sea water. Trump cards soak up sea water from the edges, with foam along the rim under flying spray.
- Cannon fire. A trick taken with a trump is blown to smoke by a cannon shot, gold coins spinning out.
Neon
Black cards where everything is a glowing neon tube, one colour per suit: pink hearts, cyan diamonds, green clubs and violet spades, with a synthwave horizon behind the figures. The tubes hum and flicker.
- Brighter under the mouse. Point at a card and its tubes burn brighter, with sparks skipping along them.
- A charge round the rim. Trump cards have a charge running round the edge under electric arcs.
- Bad signal. A trick taken with a trump breaks up like a bad signal and drops out in blocks, in a short circuit of rings and arcs.
Dragon
Dark iron and scales. The ace is a dragon's head, the king the dragon king in winged armour, the queen carries a hatchling on her shoulder, and the jack is a knight with lance and shield. The suits are a volcano, a cave of gold, misty ruins and a castle in a storm, and embers drift over the cards.
- Golden eyes. Point at a card and the eyes glow gold, with slit pupils.
- Dragonfire. Trump cards burn with dragonfire at the edges under a tall, green-hearted flame.
- Burning scales. A trick taken with a trump is scorched and flies apart as burning scales in a breath of fire.
Three live tables, 1000 pesos each
Aurora, Embers and Crystal get three companions, drawn live at your seat in the same way, at a third of the price. Your table sits at your seat on the board, so the other players at the table see it too.
- Galaxy. A spiral nebula turns slowly in the felt under a field of stars, with a shooting star now and then. A dark chrome rail and white sapphires in the corners.
- Lagoon. Turquoise water over sand: caustics play on the bottom, rings spread from falling drops and the sun glitters on the surface. A bleached wood rail and aquamarines.
- Royal velvet. Red velvet with a light drifting over the pile and gold thread in the lattice. A gold rail and rubies.
Three backgrounds, 500 pesos each
The room backgrounds fill the whole room around the table, in the lobby and while you play. Each of the three new ones also goes on your player card, bought separately for the same 500 pesos.
- Cantina. Inside a Mexican cantina at night: a string of coloured bulbs and papel picado swing under the beam, a guitar and a sombrero hang on the wall, rain and a far storm show through the window, and bottles and a candle stand on the bar.
- Mayan pyramid. A stepped pyramid in the jungle at dusk: torchlight and smoke rise from the temple on top, the stars come out, mist lies in the valley, and fireflies drift between the palms.
- Storm. A storm over the plain seen through a window: every few seconds lightning lights the fields and the clouds from inside, rain falls over the land and drops run down the glass.
How to get them
The decks cost 400 pesos each under Cards, the tables 1000 under Tables and the backgrounds 500 under Backgrounds; the card version of a background is bought on the home page, with the edit button on your card. Every item has a preview at a real table, and once you unlock it, it stays yours. The three tables and the three backgrounds can also come out of the gift box for first place, like the other paid tables and backgrounds. Pesos are earned at the table — by finishing public and mini games, with daily missions, your daily streak, badges, the weekly leaderboard and tournaments — and they are never sold.
All ten decks, fifteen tables and the backgrounds are side by side in the shop guide.
