Mexico Club has two ways of scoring a deal, Easy and Normal. From today every public and mini table uses Easy — including the tables you start from a party with the public or mini button. Tournaments stay on Normal, and a private room keeps the mode that was chosen when it was created.
What changes at a public table
Only the bad deals are scored differently. A made bid is worth exactly what it was before: the caller writes down the tricks they actually took (bid 6, take 8 → +8), and a made Mexico is worth +20.
- A fall costs the bid once. Call 7 and take 6, and you write −7. Under Normal scoring it would be −14.
- A Gangster with no tricks scores 0. Under Normal scoring, a player who did not bid and took nothing pays the amount of the bid.
- Mexico is still the most expensive fall. A failed Mexico costs −20 at a public table and −40 in a tournament.
Everything else stays the same: the two Gangsters write down the tricks they took (doubled on a Mexico deal), and a total never goes below zero, so a fall can take you down to 0 but not under it.
What it means at the table
With Easy scoring one bad deal costs less, so a game to 51 stays open for longer, and it pays to bid when you have a real chance. Normal scoring, with its doubled falls, is still there for tournaments and for private rooms that choose it.
Where to read more
The rules page has the full fall table for both modes, from a bid of 5 up to Mexico. The rules inside the game and the last round of the tutorial have been updated to match.
Private rooms work as before: when you create one, you still choose Easy or Normal, and you can also pick the target score. See the guide to private rooms and invite links.
